never believed in ghosts until I moved to Old Town.My husband, Mars, and I inherited our family from his Aunt Faye. She was rather a hoot.I bought Mars out when we were divorced, and I admit, I know my big old, historic house.Things happen, little things that I try to charge on my Ocicat, Mochie, and my hound mix, Daisy. They can be pretty rambunctious, but the accuracy is that I know they're not causing the image of Faye over the hearth to glide off kilter.
In every neighborhood, maybe yours, too, there's a creepy house. In my neighborhood, it's Mordecai Artemus's house. It's really a gorgeous mansion with a wonderful porch that wraps from the face around to the side. But it's still creepy.I never see any lights on because Mordecai keeps heavy curtains closed all the time. He's a solitary who hardly ever ventures out. There are rumors that he
roams the streets of Old Town at night.Even worse, some people say he murdered his wife and stashed her in the theatre somewhere.Wolf, my boyfriend who happens to be a cop, says Mordecai is frightening and often alerts the law to noises when he thinks somebody is trying to break in.It's never true. Our region is really quite peaceful and safe.
Mordecai ventured out of his house, with his adorable Pomeranian, last year when my babe was getting married.Oof, that's a long story, you can understand all around it in The Diva Takes the Cake. But later that, he retreated to his home again, and it remains huge and dark - and fair plain creepy. Is there a creepy house in your neighborhood? One that the kids run by out of fright?~ Sophie Domestic Diva Mysteries

Killer Characters: Boo! Is There A Spooky House in Your Neighborhood?
Boo!Is There A Spooky House in Your Neighborhood?
I know in Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia. It's a wonderful historic town with brick sidewalks and ancient houses.George Washington even walked the streets. So it's no storm that at this sentence of year, when the leaves turn red and gold, and the wind whips them around my ankles, that I can almost smell the ghosts of years gone by.
